Writing
Writing is essential, like math and reading, in a digital age that now hones in on the digital writing skills needed for 21st-century careers. Writing is a base for all to come in their future.
Writing is a core self-expression of knowledge students have learned and who they are as individuals. The student’s ability to share their unique ideas, thoughts, feelings, opinions, stories and information with peers are essential ingredients to a student’s overall life experiences. Learning to communicate one’s thoughts in an organized, structured, and detail-rich manner through writing is acquired after much practice and guidance. Writing strategies and skills is no easy feat to learn and fundamental for students to succeed in their necessary day-to-day activities, and some would say that writing is the only academic discipline with universal carry-over into all fields.
Take note, children of all writing abilities struggle with writing! Often children feel it’s challenging to organize and convey thoughts without frustration. When they learn to apply good writing traits that include correct writing of mechanics and grammar, children will express their writing with confidence, rather than feeling overwhelmed. Once children also tackle writing, they find school more enjoyable in ALL Subjects and build perseverance.
Working with a writing tutor: Students of elementary school years learn to convey ideas effectively, concisely, and with proper grammar and usage conventions. We are equipped to build your child’s foundational writing skills, improve grammar, prepare for essays, quizzes tests, and keep up with homework assignments.
Tutoring and Focus on Writing Skills
Writing
Our experienced writing tutors understand the power of writing. They foster within their students the abilities to organize their thoughts and build the skills needed to write clear and concise descriptions, narratives, and informative sentences and paragraphs
Spelling and Vocabulary
Our experienced tutors focus on how words are spelled and pronounced and then focus on the meaning of the words by using them in context.
Problem Solving
Our experienced tutors include problem-solving skills in sessions with their students. Problem-solving strategies can help with subjects like math, reading, writing, and help them develop excellent social skills. Problem-solving teaches kids to stop and think before they act.
Critical thinking:
Our experienced tutors seek out imaginative ways to include critical thinking skills by encouraging their students to ask questions, promote decision-making, encourage partner work in classroom discussions, and learn from others’ different viewpoints.
